A relaxed evening of honest conversation about what it’s really like to live in a woman’s body.
This month: The Overwhelmed Body
Tuesday October 27 · 6:30–8:30 p.m.
Private home in Cambridge · Only eight places
Some health questions need more than a rushed answer
Why are you exhausted but unable to fully relax?
Why has stress changed your sleep, digestion, patience or the way you feel in your own body?
And how are you supposed to understand any of it when every symptom is discussed as though it has nothing to do with the others?
Real Body Talk is a place to have those conversations.
It’s a small gathering for women who want to understand their bodies, ask honest questions and talk about the things that affect how they feel every day.
We’ll sit together over alcohol-free drinks and appetizers while we explore one health topic in a way that is useful, personal and easy to understand.
It isn’t a presentation. It isn’t a sales pitch. And you don’t need to know anyone before you arrive.
Come by yourself, pour yourself something nice and join us.
This month’s conversation: The Overwhelmed Body
What happens when your mind keeps pushing, but your body is asking you to slow down?
You may feel tired but wired. Your sleep becomes lighter. Your digestion changes. Your patience gets shorter. Even when you finally sit down, your body doesn’t seem to get the message that it’s allowed to relax.
During this evening, we’ll talk about how ongoing stress can affect the body—and why feeling overwhelmed isn’t only happening in your head.
We’ll connect some of the dots between stress, sleep, energy, digestion and the physical signs that can appear when your body has been carrying too much for too long.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions, join the conversation or listen without having to share anything personal.
Real Body Talk
Your host
Hi, I’m Eva.
I’m a functional nutrition and lifestyle practitioner and women’s health coach. I help women who are trying hard to take care of themselves but still don’t understand why their energy, sleep, digestion, hormones or body have changed.
In my work, I hear questions that women have been carrying around for months, or even years. They want real explanations, but they don’t always have a place where they can ask without feeling rushed, dismissed or handed another generic list of things to try.
That’s the kind of space I want Real Body Talk to be.
I’ll guide our conversation, explain what may be happening inside the body in clear, everyday language and help connect the dots between the things you’re experiencing.
But I won’t be standing at the front giving you a lecture. I’ll be sitting and talking with you.
Meet this month’s featured guest
Carrie Bergen-Geisel
Carrie Bergen-Geisel is a certified 500-hour yoga teacher and 100-hour Qi Gong teacher, with additional training in yin yoga, chair yoga, somatic movement, breathwork and meditation. Her own yoga journey began as a refuge from the stresses of daily life, shaping the warm and accessible way she teaches today.
Carrie gently helps people reconnect with their breath and body, regardless of age, experience or body type. During Real Body Talk, she’ll guide us through a short, seated practice so we can experience—not only talk about—what it can feel like to slow down.
During the evening, she’ll guide us through a short, seated experience using [breathing, gentle somatic movement or nervous-system exercises].
(Learn more about Carrie at For the Love of Movement.)
Everything can be done in your regular clothes, and you don’t need any previous experience and participate as much or as little as feels comfortable.
What will the evening feel like?
Think less “health event” and more a good conversation around the living room.
We’ll begin with drinks, appetizers and time to settle in. I’ll then open our conversation around The Overwhelmed Body, with plenty of room for questions and discussion.
Our featured guest will lead us through a practical seated experience, and we’ll finish the evening with more conversation and time to connect.
Your ticket includes the full two-hour gathering, the guest-guided experience, alcohol-free beverages, appetizers and a gift to take home.
